Emmy Winner Chieli Minucci Joins Festival Line-Up


Smooth Jazz Festival Welcome Chieli Minucci
chieli minucciMarietta, GA, July 7, 2016 – It was 2007 the last time Chieli Minucci last played Atlanta.  Why so long?  “It’s been crazy busy.”  Minucci said.  “We’ve put out 11 releases since our last visit and I’ve had a few special projects.”  Those special projects have included composition for more than 10 major movies and television program soundtracks.   His accolades are many.

Guitarist, composer, arranger, and producer Chieli Minucci, along with Special EFX makes his way back to Atlanta for the 9th Annual Atlanta Smooth Music Festival.  The festival will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at the Mable House Barnes Amphitheatre, just outside Atlanta in Mableton, Georgia.  Minucci joins the power packed line-up that includes saxophonists Warren Hill, Jasmin Ghent, and, Greg Chambers; Generation Next featuring keyboardist Nicholas Cole, trumpeter Lin Rountree, and saxophonists Lebron Dennis; and, guitarist Steve Oliver.

“He’s the type of musician that you hear everywhere and yet may not know him.”  Joe Cleveland, Managing Partner of Jazz Grooves said.  “He’s recorded 750 individual cues, which are kind of like sound bites and background music that elevates a scene.”  He’s earned three Daytime Emmys from his 10 nominations from the Academy of Television Arts and Science.  The list goes on and on.  “With his busy production schedule, we are thrilled to have Chieli perform at the festival.”  Cleveland added.

The Atlanta Smooth Music Festival is the areas only all day music experience devoted exclusively to smooth jazz.  The festival features international recording artists like Minucci.  “We provide smooth jazz music lovers an opportunity to see not just a concert, but to have a smooth jazz experience.
