Saxophonist Warren Hill Performs In Atlanta

Marietta, GA – June 28, 2016.  Canadian Smooth Jazz saxophonist Warren Hill has always been on the cutting edge.  He came up with the idea of a seven day smooth jazz cruise.  Then Hill planned a multi day smooth jazz destination vacation at a luxury resort in the Caribbean.   “When we had the opportunity to have Warren Hill headline our Atlanta Smooth Music Festival, we jumped on it.”  Joe Cleveland said, Jazz Grooves Managing Partner, the presenters of the Atlanta Smooth Music Festival.
Hill was first introduced to mass audiences when he opened for Natalie Cole during her Unforgetable Tour.  His career exploded with the release of his 1993 hit The Passion Themes which was featured in the film Body of Evidence.   Honing his craft, he added a new dimension to his music, adding vocals on the 1998 release Life Thru Rose Colored Glasses, followed by the 2000 release Love Life.

With a string of releases and memorable performances behind him, Hill continues to draw his long time followers, while capturing new smooth jazz listeners.  His cover of the Beatles Hey Jude is an audience favorite.  “That’s a staple in my playlist and one of my personal favorites.”  Hill commented.

One thing Hill is noted for is the ever changing hair.  “A look at his album and cd covers reveals long hair, short hair, blond streaks, and everything in between.”  Cleveland added.  “If for no other reason besides the new sounds, you have to see what the hair is doing.”

Warren Hill will close out the 9th Annual Atlanta Smooth Music Festival.  Chieli Minucci and Special EFX, Steve Oliver, Generation NeXt featuring Nicholas Cole, Lebron, and Lin Rountree,  Jazmin Ghent, and Greg Chambers are all scheduled to perform.  The festival will take place at the Mable House Barnes Amphitheater on Saturday, September 10, 2016.
